America’s Favorite Senior Citizen ~ Friday Humor

My favorite comedic actress recently celebrated her 99th birthday on January 17th. Betty White is one of America’s most beloved celebrities. Her sweet disposition, sharp sense of humor, and love of animals have endeared her to many fans especially yours truly. If you have any doubts about her popularity just look at the five minute+ clip of Betty on a couple of talk shows. Betty makes everyone laugh!

Here are some things you might not know about Betty.

  1. Her real name is Betty and not Elizabeth.
  2. Betty was the only child of her parents Horace Lawrence White and Tess Curtis White so she received lots of love from her parents during childhood.
  3. She was married three times but has no children of her own. She is a stepmom to three children from her third marriage to Password gameshow host Alan Ludden.
  4. At 88 years old she was the oldest person to host Saturday Night Live.
  5. To sustain her longevity you would think Betty is diet and healthy food conscious, however, that isn’t the case. She is a junk food addict she loves hot dogs and french fries. Betty and I are both huge fans of red licorice although her favorite is Red Vines and I’m partial to Wiley Wallaby.
  6. Betty was the first female producer in TV history for the show Life with Elizabeth.
  7. In 2014, she was awarded the Guinness World Record for the longest television career (eight decades) for a female.
  8. In her words, her only claim to fame: is she is the only woman in the world who has not slept with Tiger Woods.
  9. People tell Betty, “Facebook is a great way to connect with old friends.” Betty responds, “Well, at my age, if I want to connect with old friends I need an Ouija board.”
  10. Betty claims she’s a health nut. Her favorite food is hot dogs with French fries. And for exercise: she lives in a two-story house and has a very bad memory, so she’s up and down those stairs.

I believe Betty would enjoy the following joke and I hope you will too. Three men were discussing aging at the nursing home

“Seventy is the worst age to be,” said the 60-year-old. You always feel like you have to pee. And most of the time, you stand at the toilet and nothing comes out!”

“Ah, that’s nothin’,” said the 80-year-old. “When you’re eighty, you can’t even crap anymore. You take laxatives, eat bran, you sit on the toilet all day and nothin’ comes out!”

“Actually,” said the 90-year-old, “Ninety is the worst age of all.”

“Do you have trouble peeing too?” asked the 70-year-old.

“No, not really. I pee every morning at 6:00. I pee like a racehorse on a flat rock; no problem at all.”

“Do you have trouble crapping?”

“No, I crap every morning at 6:30.”

With great exasperation, the 70-year-old said, “Let me get this straight. You pee every morning at 6:00 and crap every morning at 6:30. So what’s so tough about being 90?”

“I don’t wake up until 7:00.”

Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe, and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens. ~ Exodus 18:21
