Another common sign that you’re dehydrated is that you feel thirsty. Since your body isn’t absorbing enough water, it’s making you thirsty, indicating that you need to drink more water.

Additionally, headaches, muscle cramps, and/ or joint pains can indicate dehydration because a lack of water reduces your circulation. This can cause pain because joints aren’t lubricated.

You may be experiencing severe dehydration if you’re feeling sleepy or faint. Again, this comes back to the lack of circulation and lack of energy in your body without enough water.

Drink Lots of Water

Drinking enough water is one of the most important things to prevent dehydration. Women should drink at least 11.5 cups of water daily, while men should drink at least 15.5.

This ensures that your body maintains good circulation and can prevent infections. Drinks like milk and juice can contribute to daily water intake because they are mostly made of water.

If you have trouble drinking water, you can try setting alarms to remind yourself to drink water throughout the day. You can also keep a reusable water bottle with you to ensure that you can always have water with you.

Avoid Sugary Drinks

Avoid sugary drinks on the flip side, especially when you’re feeling dehydrated. Sugary sodas can dehydrate you even more, and too much sugar can cause other health problems in your body.

Limit Caffeine and Alcohol

Caffeine and alcohol cause dehydration. It’s best to limit how much you consume these two ingredients, as they reduce your body’s hydration. It’s a good idea to monitor your intake of drinks with these ingredients to promote hydration in your body.
