Here’s a video from the football players and coaches from my alma mater – the Air Force Academy.

Slogan vs. Organization
Black Lives Matter is both a slogan and an organization. It’s important you know what you’re supporting.
The Slogan
The phrase “Black Lives Matter” states a simple truth about the importance of equal treatment and justice for Black Americans. The viral hashtag #BlackLivesMatter has few ties with the organization that maintains a website at BlackLivesMatter.com.
The Organization
The BLM website lists their many goals, many of which we would easily support.
For example, “We work vigorously for freedom and justice for Black people and, by extension, all people.”
While some of their ideas can be easily accepted without resistance the leaders of Black Lives Matter come from a far-Left point of view.
BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors revealed, “Myself and Alicia, in particular, are trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories.”
BLM goals aren’t to make the American Dream a reality for everyone – but to completely transform America.
View of the Family
However, BLM takes positions many Americans would find very controversial, like its view of the traditional family, saying:
Promotion of Homosexuality and Transgenderism
If you’re a follower of Christ we love the sinner and hate the sin. The Bible is clear about sexuality.
The Bible defines marriage in Genesis 2:24 as a union between one man and one woman. Any and all sexual activity that happens outside of this context is treated as sinful, what Jesus calls “sexual immorality” in Mark 7:21.
Not all Black Lives Matter
African Americans participate in abortions at a higher rate than any other population group. According to a 2011 CDC Abortion Surveillance Report, black women make up 14 percent of the childbearing population.
Yet, 36 percent of all abortions were obtained by African American women. At a ratio of 474 abortions per 1,000 live births, black women have the highest ratio of any group in the country.
According to the Guttmacher Institute, which generally supports abortion, in 2011 360,000 black babies were aborted. CDC statistics for 2011 show that 287,072 black deaths occurred from all other causes excluding abortion. By these numbers, abortion is the leading cause of death among blacks.
Forgotten Lessons
The civil rights activists of the ’60s were trained in nonviolent protesting as modeled by Martin Luther King Jr. and other civil rights leaders of the time. The activists won the hearts and minds of the nation and world by conveying dignity and respect.
They changed laws by their message of unity and love and without burning down a single building. BLM seems intent on rejecting the proven and successful methods of the “60’s.
Abolishing all Police and Prisons
The Movement for Black Lives, or M4BL, a partner of BLM calls for abolishing all police and all prisons.
Tax Code Restructuring and Retroactive Decriminalization
M4BL also calls for “progressive restructuring of tax codes at the local, state, and federal levels to ensure a radical and sustainable redistribution of wealth.”
Another M4BL demand is “the retroactive decriminalization, immediate release and record expungement of all drug-related offenses and prostitution and reparations for the devastating impact of the ‘war on drugs’ and criminalization of prostitution.”
Yes, Black Lives Matter but know exactly what you’re supporting – the slogan or the organization.
Thanks for the article and the information Gerardo, I agree with your stance on BLM and knowing what you are supporting. I saw the following and felt like you simply mistyped it, “If you’re a follower of Christ we love the sin and hate the sinner. The Bible is clear about sexuality.” I am sure you meant “we love the sinner and hate the sin.”
I am new to the site and look forward to reading more. Thanks for the information.
You’re welcome, Greg. I glad you found the article informative. Thank you so much for your correction, I really appreciate it.
