Inspiration & Fun ~ Wordle: An Introduction
Meet Wordle
Do you? I was recently introduced to Wordle and I think it’s the next best thing after Chuck Norris and sliced bread. The surprising thing is I’ve been using Wordle products before I even knew what they were and if you’ve been to this site before you’ve probably seen it also.
Look familiar? The above image was used with the featured post, “Does Your Child Have a Learning Disability.” The above image is described as a word cloud. It was produced using Wordle. The creator of Wordle, Johnathon Feinberg, describes Wordle as a toy for making “word clouds” from the text provided.
Since I’m probably too old to be playing with toys I prefer to call it a “non-discretionary time utilization device.” 🙂 You can manually enter the text by typing it in or via copy and paste. You can also enter a URL or blog feed link. Here’s an example using the url https://supportforstepdads.com.

Wordle Features
Pretty cool, huh? The words that appear more often in the source text will be larger in the cloud. You can customize the clouds with different and exotic fonts, layouts and color schemes. The clouds are free and you can use them however you like. With Mother’s Day on the horizon creating a word cloud using Wordle could be a way of coming up with a creative and unique gift for mom.
