I actually purchased these as gifts. The pricing and practicality of a 2 unit set are pretty tough to beat. I tried them out though, and they work well. The metal frames look like they can handle a bit of abuse, and I think these will be a hit.
My nephew had an Air Hogs RC helicopter a couple years back and the plastic body on that one did not hold up well, plus the price for ones on the shelves in big box stores are much higher. Go for these- fantastic deal.
Update: 11/27/2011- I saw these in action after giving these as gifts. These fly very well, and the metal frame does indeed hold up to light abuse as the flying technique is being mastered- believe me, it’s fairly tricky (at least at first).
The helicopters have little blinking lights which help to make them visible. On further observation, these are quality toys, and the fact that replacement parts are available from the manufacturer (and here on Amazon) means they will be in service for a good long time. Highly recommended.

For the price of the camera, you wouldn’t really expect much. However, that is completely false. For the small price, this camera really packs a big punch. It was a no-brainer for me to choose Canon for my first DSLR. Every single camera I’ve ever owned is a Canon, and I’ve never been disappointed.
