Look familiar??? Since July 2011, I’ve received over 12,000 comment spams the majority of which were intercepted by a blocker. So what you say, read on… As you’re probably aware, blockers are only about 98% effective. The remaining 2% I had to deal with was a hassle – think separating the wheat from the chaff.
There has to be an easy way to end my aggravation and that’s when I heard about Captcha. Captcha asks a qualifying question to ensure you are human and not a spambot. Does it work? Yes, but I believe a little too well.
Since installing Captcha I can count the comments since then on two hands this despite the high number of times the Contact page is accessed. Besides I heard Captcha is going to be even more sophisticated in the future.
I believe alot of you have something to say but refuse to have to review elementary math everytime to do it. As the Pretty Lady reminds me, “It’s not all about you” so I’ve removed Captcha from the Contact page.
