Last month, I was published on voiceBoks, “How to Develop a Relationship with Your Stepkids.” The voice of parenthood, voiceBoks is an informational site for all things parenthood. The site is packed full of information by and for parents.
This month I was published again. The post is titled, “What Did You Say About My Child?” The post addresses the sensitive subject of parents not wanting to hear criticism about their children or their parenting abilities. Several suggestions are given to allow you and your partner to have more productive conversations about the kids and the tension around the subject will eventually go away. Here’s a snippet from the article:
At the time, I didn’t give much thought about what I said or the way I said it. I must have been thinking I know she knows I mean well so she’ll understand my bull in the china closet approach. But by the look in her face I could tell she was madder than a hunchback in a limbo contest.
