Stepmom Poetry
Stepmom Poetry ~ Thanks to a Stepmother
A Stepmother Like No Other
Truth and lies I couldn’t devise
You came, and I hid the tears in my eyes
Tears of joy for my father’s new happiness
Tears of fear you’d make my life more a mess
Your smiles and assurances I saw
But was it false, did you want me at all?
Desperate to repair my family’s disparate part
I hoped it was true but closed was my heart
The war of fear and hope delayed our connection
Time spoke the truth, and so, with great affection
I give you my thanks for being a great wife and stepmother
It means so much to me that we all have each other
