World Kindness Day ~ Friday Humor

On November 13, people all over the world observe World Kindness Day. The goal of World Kindness Day, which the World Kindness Movement created, is to emphasize the value of random acts of kindness and the chain of reciprocity.

It has been demonstrated that when we see other people being kind to others, we are more likely to show kindness to others ourselves. It motivates individuals to be kind to one another and spread kindness in their communities.

Background

A group of nongovernmental organizations from different nations, known as the World Kindness Movement, created World Kindness Day in 1998.

They intended to “emphasize good activities in the society emphasizing the positive power and the common thread of kindness which links us” when they established this day. Despite being honored globally, World Kindness Day is still an unofficial celebration yet to receive UN recognition.

The World Kindness Movement was established in 1997 at a convention in Tokyo, which was attended by several NGOs from nations like the US, the UK, and Australia. Organizations whose mission was to promote compassion in society attended the meeting.

Together, they created a coalition, and the Society Kindness Movement vowed to create a more compassionate world. 2019 saw the organization’s official NGO registration.

By encouraging others to show kindness to others, a chain reaction starts in which those who see others being nice choose to show compassion to others as well. It also serves as a reminder that even a modest act of kindness can significantly impact another person’s life.

Even a stranger’s smile or good words might brighten someone’s day if they have a poor one. We contribute to a kinder, happier world by constantly aiming to be nice to others.

How to Honor the Day of Kindness

The greatest approach to observe this holiday is to spread kindness throughout the day and make an effort to continue doing so throughout the rest of your life.

Complimenting others is a simple act of kindness that anybody may perform. It is a surefire technique to boost someone’s mood right away. Inform your family, friends, and coworkers about anything admirable about their appearance, hair, or character.

Take some time out of your day to assist someone who appears to be struggling or having difficulty with something, such as carrying their groceries, being stranded on the side of the road, or dropping something on the floor. You will undoubtedly encourage them to follow suit.

1. Kim Jong-un walks into a school in North Korea.

He asks a student, “Who is your father?

The student replies, “The Supreme Leader, infinite in wisdom and kindness, provider and protector of the Koreans, is our only father.”

Kim Jong beams. “Excellent. Now tell me, who is your mother?”

The student doesn’t hesitate. “The Land of True Korea,

outstanding in her beauty, international superpower, and

redeemer of all civilizations, she is our only mother.”

Kim Jong applauds. “What a diligent student you are. What do you want to be when you’re older?”

The student replies, “An orphan.”

2. Bea was in her eighties and much admired for her sweetness and kindness to all…

Well, her pastor came to call on her one afternoon early in the spring, and she welcomed him into her Victorian parlor.

She invited him to have a seat while she prepared a little tea.

As he sat facing her old pump organ, the young minister noticed a cut crystal bowl on top of it, filled with water. In the water floated, of all things, a condom.

Imagine his shock and surprise. Imagine his curiosity! Surely Miss Bea had flipped or something! But he certainly couldn’t mention the strange sight in her parlor.

When she returned with tea and cookies, they began to chat.

The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him, and he could resist no longer.

“Miss Bea,” he said, pointing to the bowl, “I wonder if you would tell me about this.”

“Oh, yes,” she replied, “isn’t it wonderful? I was walking downtown last fall, and I found this little package. The directions said to put it on the organ, keep it moist, and it would prevent disease. And do you know… I haven’t had a cold all winter!”

Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” – Princess Diana
