National Children’s Day in the United States is celebrated on the second Sunday in June. This day highlights how important children are in society, and some still face many problems and difficulties in different aspects of their lives.

History of National Children’s Day
National Children’s Day has been commemorated on various dates in the United States over the years. It was first designed in 1856 by Reverend Dr. Charles Leonard of Chelsea, Massachusetts. On the second Sunday in June, Children’s Day was observed as a special day for baptizing children. The service addressed some of the specific needs and issues that children face.
In 1989, the Bush and Clinton administrations established National Children’s Day, celebrated on the second Sunday in October.
Until 2001, when the Republican government moved the holiday’s official date to the first Sunday in June, this was the official date. The Obama administration chose November 20 as the new date to correspond with the United Nations’ World Children’s Day.
People can now select when they want to commemorate National Children’s Day as a result of all of these variations in dates. Some people observe it on the second Sunday in June, while others choose November.
