Stepmom Poetry
Someone Who Stepped In
On this day
I remember you
Someone who stepped in
as I grew
You were not there
when I first walked
and maybe not there
when I first talked
But you stepped in
to teach and hold
You made it warm
when life was cold
And of course I know
your influence
every day of my life
makes a difference
You may have moved on
to a different place
But you were here
to fill the space
You may have moved on
to a different place
But you were here
to fill the space
Thank-you so much
for stepping in
for growing the strength
that I carry within
I’ll always remember
on this special day
how you showed your care
In each unique way
Thank-you
