Improving Your Physical Health By Sleeping Better!

Nowadays, life has become so hectic limiting people from improving their physical health by eating healthy and getting rejuvenating sleep on a regular basis.

Taking Care of your Physical Health

We are responsible for all aspects of our health. Our well-being includes the five elements of health: physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual.

However, clean or healthy eating is just one aspect of living in physical health. Getting sufficient daily sleep of at least seven to eight hours is the other aspect of maintaining good physical health.

How does sleeping affect your health?  Your brain and body need rest.

Good quality sleep will help you have

  • Better memory,
  • More focus,
  • Less stress,
  • Optimal blood pressure,
  • Improved productivity,
  • Better relationships and happier days,
  • Lose weight,
  • Avoid aging prematurely and
  • Live longer.

In the long run, the lack of quality sleep can even lead to sleep disorders which can adversely affect your health. So, consistent clean eating and regular good sleep are the required elements for a healthy life.

Getting a good night’s sleep doesn’t require a high-end luxury mattress. However, when you can afford a high-quality mattress, you should buy one.

The mattress you get should not be too hard or too soft because both are dangerous to your health. You may get body pain by sleeping on such mattresses.

It may even affect your sleep as well.

The Importance of Mattress Alignment

According to sleep specialists, to achieve good quality sleep, your:

  • The body needs to be well supported with no pressure points pressing against your pressure-sensitive joints (hip, shoulder, ankle and even ribs) while lying horizontally.
  • The spine should align correctly with the rest of your body and
  • Ensure your body weight distributes appropriately across your frame and mattress

The best mattress supports all three of the above points. The ideal mattress is frequently medium-firm memory foam, latex, or coil spring to make sure you’re well supported.

So, choose a mattress that has a right thickness of the layers within the mattress.  Checking the mattress layers will be impossible as the mattress will be stitched completely to give a finished look.

However, you can always question the dealer and get the details.  The cover on the mattress should be smooth, and the coil used inside the mattress should not poke you when you sleep on it.

Like everything in this world, even mattresses become worn out and needs to be replaced to avoid adverse impact on your health.

Experts recommend the mattress should be replaced at least after every five years.

Of course, buying a new mattress may be costly, so you may have a second thought on replacing it.  So, whether you replace it or not, properly maintaining your mattress is essential.

Whatever the circumstance make sure your mattress is not affecting your sleep because sleeping is vital for a healthy life.
