World Emoji Day ~ Friday Humor
Every year on July 17th, people across the globe celebrate World Emoji Day. Many people who communicate online do it better with emojis. It’s a universal language that’s easy for everyone to understand.
Emoji is a Japanese word created by Shigetaka Kurita in 1990, meaning “picture word.” This unofficial holiday was created in 2014 and has grown in popularity ever since. Many brands and celebrities endorse and celebrate World Emoji Day. On this day, people are challenged to communicate online using only emojis.
Jeremy Burge, the founder of Emojipedia, conceived a worldwide celebration of emojis in 2014. Burge’s goal is to promote emojis and the flair they bring to people’s messages. Enjoy these jokes on emojis.
