National Beach Day ~ Friday Humor

National Beach Day is observed on the 30th of August during the height of summer. This is the day to honor everyone’s enjoyment of spending a nice day lounging on their towels on a sandy beach, building sandcastles, and swimming in the water. Additionally, National Beach Day promotes the value of keeping beaches clean so everyone can enjoy them.

Background

The Knights of Columbus in Milwaukee were the first to come up with the concept of a day to honor beaches in the United States in 1929. This day was intended to be a component of their convention preparations, but it never really caught on.

The unofficial holiday National Beach Day was not established until 2014 by family lifestyle expert Colleen Page. This day aims to show people how much we appreciate beaches and how important it is to keep them clean so that future generations can enjoy them as much as we do.

The government has made efforts to keep the beaches safe and clean for people to enjoy. The Clean Water Act, passed in 1948, guarantees that pollution and water quality regulations keep the waters on beaches clean.

The Coastal Zone Management Act, which the government passed in 1972 to preserve, safeguard, and restore the United States coastal zone, followed. The BEACH Act, which mandates the EPA to set standards for testing and to monitor the water, was finally passed in 2000.

How to Celebrate National Beach Day

You can celebrate National Beach Day by organizing a beach cleanup with your friends and family on a nearby beach. As you gather all the trash people have left behind, try to get the other beachgoers to join you. Once you’re through, rest on your towel and refreshingly swim in the sea to cool off.

Around the country, numerous organizations are devoted to maintaining the cleanliness of the beaches. Find out if there is one close by and offer to assist. You can also enjoy and share these jokes with your friends.

1. A Jewish grandma and her grandson are having a nice day at the beach. A huge wave comes out of nowhere and sweeps him out to sea.

She drops to her knees and pleads, “Please, God, save my only grandchild. Please bring him back. I beg of you, my life has no meaning without him.

And a big wave comes and washes the boy back onto the beach, good as new. She looks to heaven and says: “He had a hat!”

2. A physicist, a chemist, and a biologist visit a beach.
They were bored sitting empty, so they decided to perform some experiments.

The physicist says, “I’m gonna measure the depth of the sea.” He proceeds to dive into the sea but goes too deep. He gets crushed by the underwater pressure, drowns, and dies.

The biologist says, “I’m gonna discover a new species.” He proceeds to dive into the sea and starts looking here and there. He gets stung by a poisonous octopus and dies.

The chemist sees all of this happening. He takes a notebook and writes, “Physicists and biologists are soluble in water.”

3. Two Priests decided to go to Thailand on vacation. They were determined to make this a real vacation by not wearing anything identifying them as Priests. For once, they’d enjoy a vacation as regular people.

As soon as the plane landed, they headed for a store and bought some really outrageous shorts, shirts, sandals, sunglasses, etc.

The following day they went to the beach dressed in their ‘tourist’ garb. They were sitting on the beach chairs, enjoying a drink, the sunshine, and the scenery when a drop-dead gorgeous blonde in a bikini came walking straight toward them.

They couldn’t help but stare. As the blonde passed them, she smiled and said, ‘Good morning, Father,’ and ‘Good morning, Father.’, nodding and addressing each of them individually, then she passed by.

They were both stunned. How in the world did she know they were priests?

So the next day, they returned to the store and bought even more outrageous outfits. These were so loud you could hear them before you even saw them! Once again, in their new attire, they settled down in their chairs to enjoy the sunshine.

After a while, the same gorgeous blonde, wearing a different colored bikini, took her sweet time, walking toward them.
Again she nodded at each of them, said: ‘Good morning, Father,’ and ‘Good morning, Father.’ and started to walk away.

One of the priests couldn’t stand it any longer and said, ‘Just a minute, young lady.’ ‘Yes, Father?’ ‘We are priests and proud of it, but I have to know, how in the world do you know we are priests dressed as we are?’

‘Father, it’s me,’ she replied, ‘Sister Philomena!’

There’s nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it’s sent away. – Sarah Kay
