Happy Father’s Day 2020

Many father figures aren’t related by blood. Any man who stepped up and assumed the role of a father is worthy of being celebrated on Father’s Day. One man who stepped up is a stepdad.

Stepdads do everything a biodad promised to do even when they don’t have to. They offer love, support, and encouragement to their bonus kids.

A dad, whether biological or step, is an important figure in any child’s life. Father’s Day shouldn’t be just about celebrating your bio dad, but also your stepdad for his selfless role in raising you.

Stepdads sometimes have to play second fiddle and take the back seat. However, if you have a stepdad in your life who raised you with love and commitment, you should make out time to celebrate him on Father’s Day.

Father’s Day can strengthen a child’s bond with their bio dad or stepdad. So, whichever way you decide to celebrate the special man in your life is entirely up to you. But what you must do is, let him know how grateful you are for his love and support.

It’s not uncommon for Father’s Day celebrations to bring feelings of uneasy, envy, guilt, and sadness for stepdads and children who still have both their bio dad and stepdad present in their lives. However, this shouldn’t stop you from celebrating them.

If you are lucky enough to have dads who are friendly with each other, you can even take both of them out. You can also decide to spend a few hours separately with each of them. With a bit of planning, you can show love to your dads without making anyone feel left out.

Buy a gift, send a heartfelt message, or spend some quality time catching up with your dad or stepdad. Whatever you do, thank that awesome man for the vital role he plays in your life.
