Global Day Of Parents ~ Friday Humor

The Global Day of Parents is celebrated every year on June 1st. It was founded by the United Nations in 2012  According to the United Nations, it is a holiday “to be marked annually, honoring parents worldwide.

Increasing Public Awareness

The United Nations gathered in 1989 and resolved to honor the role of the family by declaring 1994 the International Year of the Family. “Family: Resources and Responsibilities in a Changing World” was the year’s topic.

The UN-funded projects on a local and global level at the time, using its resources to increase awareness of and promote policies that helped families in many countries.

The UN also started organizing a worldwide day for families, an annual celebration of the family unit in the same year. The United Nations resolved to establish a special day for parents, and the UN General Assembly decided on the date in 2012. The following year, 2013, was the first Parent’s Day.

He says, “Hi darling, your parents have come to visit us, so I let them stay in our bedroom. Did you say hello?”
