Soup season is upon us! And what could be a better accompaniment than Daily Kneads bread, a delicious whole-grain bread packed with a full serving of vegetable in every slice? In addition to sliced bread, Daily Kneads also offers flatbreads.

Sliced bread  and flatbread options are:

  • Tomato and Basil
  • Sweet Beet
  • Spinach and Leek
  • Red Pepper
  • Carrot and Pumpkin

I tried the spinach and leek and red pepper flatbreads, as well as the carrot and pumpkin and tomato and basil sliced bread. I found the flatbreads to be much more delicious and filling than the sliced pieces of bread, although I already have a strong preference for flatbreads.

While the Daily Kneads website has a few recipes you can use with the sliced bread and flatbread, I found them to be slightly lacking. However, since the products are still so new, I predict more recipes will become available in the future.

Price

The retail price for Daily Kneads bread is between $4.99 and $5.99 per loaf.

Buyer Description

Daily Kneads breads and flatbreads are ideal for people who want a little variety with their meals or a healthier alternative to regular bread.

Negatives

I found the breads and flatbreads to be a bit dry, so I don’t recommend eating them alone. They should be served with either a condiment (butter, jam, etc.) or as a side to a soup or salad.

How to Buy

According to the website, the sliced loaves and flatbreads will soon be available from these distributors: Gordon Food Service, Sysco, Unfi United Natural Foods and US Foods.

They are also served in the bakeries and delis like HyVee, Earth Fare, Kowalski’s Markets, Lunds & Byerlys and Aldi.

You can find out where Daily Kneads bread is sold using this store/restaurant locator.

Contents

Each loaf of bread is 21 oz (about 18 slices)

Each flatbread package is 9.75 oz and contains two flatbreads.

What Others Say

I was not able to find independent reviews of the sliced breads and flatbreads, other than from the website. Reviews from three people were favorable.

The breads were in the news as they were recently displayed at a roll-out for Aunt Millie’s Bakehouse.
