Pampering Your Pregnant Wife

The love of your life is creating a new life the ultimate expression of the love for each other. She has made it through the first and second trimester and now she’s on the home stretch.

In just a few short months you’ll meet your baby. But mom still has a long way to go before then.

Your mommy-to-be is feeling more uncomfortable by the day as your baby stretches out, kicking her in the ribs and nestling into her bladder. Nights are long as she tries to sleep but can’t get comfortable.

Her feet become swollen and she starts waddling like a cute little duck. While she’s literally creating a life inside her, she’s also feeling very uncomfortable.

She’s probably told you a few times she feels bloated and ugly. You’ve reassured her she’s beautiful, but some days still seem to be extra hard on her.

Here are a few pick me ups to help you pamper your pregnant wife.

Feet

Your wife will get large enough your growing child makes it impossible for her to see her toes. She knows her feet look fat and her ankles have become cankles. Here are a few foot care tips you can do for your wife to help her feel beautiful.

  1. Get a bowl of warm water and let her soak her poor feet.
  2. After her feet have soaked, gently wash them with a soft sponge or washcloth.
  3. Dry her feet and rub yummy smelling lotion into them.
  4. If it’s close to your baby’s due date, take a few extra minutes to paint her toenails (she’ll appreciate this when she’s in the hospital).

Massage

Her back is sore from carrying around 30 extra pounds in front of her. The pain in her back is creeping up into her neck and she feels tired and uncomfortable no matter how she sits/lays/stands.

If you want to help ease her pain get a nice lotion and offer to give her a massage. Just fifteen minutes of rubbing will offer her a world of relief.

Clothes

The bigger your wife gets the fewer clothes she will be able to wear. You might have noticed she’s been wearing the same three outfits for the past month now.

If you want to surprise her with something she will love, get her a new maternity dress or shirt. By that simple act, you have almost doubled her wardrobe.

Bath

Get some bubble solution or a bath bomb and give your wife a nice soak in the tub. This will help relieve pain from her aching back and limbs.

When a pregnant woman is in water, it helps take stress off her body because all of the extra weight is more evenly distributed and being buoyed up by the water.

It doesn’t take a lot of time out of your day or money from your pocket to help your wife feel cared for and relaxed during these last few months of pregnancy.

Remember she is creating life, and be patient with her aches and pains. You can do this dad!

As an informed husband, you can better support your wife through this life-changing adventure. With a few helpful tips, you can play an active role as you eagerly await your little one’s arrival.
