Something Old

At first I joked
That’s my stepdad
You were my something borrowed
Then I joked that you
You were my something new
Then I laughed
That you were my something blue
Today I know the truth

SomethingOldHeader Stepfather Poetry ~ Something Old
That you are my something old
For the nights that you nursed my colds
For the days when you taught me to be bold
You are my father
Take my hand dad
As we walk down the aisle
Its only natural
That you give me away
Just remember
My father you will always stay
